After first finding the nest and identifying the wasp species, NOWASP introduce a trade-strength pesticide powder into all nest entrances.  Because this pesticide takes a few minutes to work, newly arriving wasps then carry the powder deep into the heart of the nest before expiring, exposing the entire colony (including the queen wasp, eggs and larvae) to the deadly effects of the poison.

PET SAFETY

Fortunately, wasps tend to build their nests where they are least likely to be disturbed;  usually in attics, lofts or other innaccessible places...  well away from little paws and noses!  Plus, our specialist insecticide is applied at very low concentrations which, although easily strong enough to kill wasps and hornets effectively, poses little or no health risk to either humans or pets.

We will always advise you fully during the visit, but the suggested strategy is simply to keep any pets in the household away from treated area for a couple of hours after the application of insecticide.

Although neither wasp nor hornet nests are re-occupied after extermination of the colony, NOWASP SOUTH WALES can return to remove the nest (and all dead wasps) once the treatment has run its course.  Removal is recommended if you plan to have building work carried out, and can be important when you come to sell your property in the future!
